Although I'm sure the word has spread by now, it is my responsibility to inform you that a student has been murdered inside of Hogwarts School. Sorin Radoslav. A 7th year pureblood Slytherin boy.
It is a terrible loss for the school as well as for his friends. Of course, some of you are in mourning and Madam Pomfrey is available if you need to talk.
Of course I must make this notice a warning. The murder occurred within the school walls, which means that whoever committed the atrocity either resides within or has access to Hogwarts. From now on, please ensure you are never alone within the school, especially those of you without magic.
We've swept the school but as of yet have found no signs of forced entry. The only person known to be around Radoslav at the time of his murder was Mister Anthony Goldstein. He will be held in quarantine to deal with his shock until further notice. A small memorial will be held in the Graveyard tomorrow evening promptly at 5pm. |

Private to Professors]
A student has been killed within the school, in the Great Hall. The students may NOT know the specifics of this murder. If they persist, inform them it was inside the school but give no location. We will have to thoroughly search every classroom and corridor. Two to a floor starting from the bottom. The main doors have been bolted shut and charmed. If the perpetrator is within the school, we will know if they try to leave.
[Private to Aurora and Leith]
Who was responsible? One of you or our stupidly blood-thirsty friends in the forest?
[Private to Pomfrey]
Place Goldstein in a quarantine room and leave him alone. I'll be down to talk to him shortly. |

As you've been told, a student has died here on the grounds of Hogwarts. Miss Lavender Brown is no longer with us. It is a terrible loss, and not one we'll be taking lightly. I know she was friends to many of you, and this is a hard time. The school counsellor is available to talk to at any time of day in the Hospital Wing should you need consoling.
You are free to leave your commonrooms as of now, however please practice the utmost care as you travel around the school. Please keep in groups of two or more, do not leave the castle for any reason without a teacher present. Those of you without magic are advised to travel with friends who are still able to cast spells. Please do your very best to keep yourself safe.

As of today I must request that students do not raid the kitchens outside of meal times. Due to the quarantine, we aren't able to fully replenish our stocks as we would usually, and are limited to the rations provided by the Ministry of Magic. Though we are by no means going to starve, I feel it might be better to conserve our pantry, just in case.
Also, please be aware we are investigating the cause of this mist that has descended over the castle, but so far haven't found the cause. Hopefully the weather will pick up and the msit will clear but until then I must ask you to be extremely careful and not to leave the castle without an escort from a Professor.
Thank you

As you are all aware, the fire that destroyed the greenhouses also spread into the school. As of today, the first and second and third corridors on the east side of the castle are out of bounds. They pose a safety risk for any student or member of staff as we don't know how much of the structure has been damaged. The last thing I want is for a student to fall through the floor because it's crumbling away. so please, don't go into these corridors, no matter how much longer it might make your walk to class.
Secondly, since the greenhouses have been destroyed, it will be impossible for Professor Sprout to teach practical Herbology. And so we've decided to split the lessons between helping to clear and repair the greenhouses and studying exotic plants based on their entries in your text books in order to pass your NEWT examinations.
If you'd like to opt out of helping to clear the greenhouses, you may do an additional essay each week for equal class credit.
I must remind all students that they are not to venture near the Forbidden Forest. The Death Eater Gabriel Bole is still at large, and must, under no circumstances, must you give him the opportunity to attack you. Be safe.

Looks like there's a bout of thievery going on round here. Five different kids have come to me saying someone's been nicking their things from their pockets or their rooms or their bags or wherever. So keep a keen eye out, I know I am.
And if I catch the little bastard menace that broke into my office, I'll hang him up by his little fingers till he's blue in the face from howling! |

I'm rather pleased to be out of that blasted hospital wing, finally. I feel like I've been cooped up in there for years.
Now that I'm back in the dungeons I want to start researching this virus. I'm inviting all students who've been passing my classes with O or high E grades to join in attempting to find a cure. I've already attempted to isolate the virus from my own body, and I believe I may have done so-
If we do find a cure, we'll be writing history, so I urge those of you who believe you're good enough at Potions to join me.

After much discussion, we have learned that once the disease has completed the removal of magic from the infected, they are no longer infectious. It appears that the virus must enter some sort of dormant state in the body. We will have to focus some sort of research on it, but for now, it appears safe to release those students who have lost their magic, which we will be doing later today.
It must be understood that no magic shall be used against them. They will be entirely unable to defend themselves. Anyone discovered to have used a spell on those without magic will be given a month's worth of detention clearing up after Hagrid's Hippogriffs. Understood?
[Private to those with the disease]
You will be expected to return to your classes. Though you cannot participate in the practical parts, you can still learn the theory behind magic, for when you are cured. I have no doubt that we shall find a way to restore you.
[Private to Luna Lovegood]
Despite the fact that if came to good use, what you did put both yourself and your fellow students at risk. I, myself, am issuing you a week's worth of detention. Report to me each day after dinner to assist in cleaning the hospital wing, since you appear unable to resist visiting. |
